How the job goes
- Work on a cold engine. Remove the plastic engine cover if fitted.
- Disconnect each ignition coil's connector, remove its bolt, and pull the coil straight out.
- Blow debris out of the plug well before removing the plug, so nothing falls into the cylinder.
- Unscrew the old plug with a spark plug socket and extension.
- Start each new plug by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the spec in your service manual.
- Reinstall the coils and connectors, one cylinder at a time so nothing gets mixed up.
Before you order
- These are iridium plugs that come pre-gapped. Don't re-gap them; you can damage the fine center electrode.
- Confirm the tightening torque in a service manual. Over-tightening can damage the aluminum head.
- Hybrids have a high-voltage system. Follow the service manual's safety steps.
