Some store links earn NoJunkParts a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes which part we recommend or the order the stores appear in. How we make money

How the job goes

  1. Warm the engine briefly, park on level ground, and shut it off.
  2. Drain the oil, then remove the old filter. Make sure its gasket came off with it.
  3. Oil the new filter's gasket and spin it on hand-tight plus about 3/4 turn.
  4. Reinstall the drain plug, refill with the grade and amount on your oil filler cap or in the owner's manual, and check for leaks.

Before you order

  • Not for 2.5L engines: Ford's catalog lists two different filters for them, so GearGuide doesn't pick one yet.
  • Not for the 2.7L V6 (Fusion Sport), which uses a different filter.
  • Check your owner's manual for oil grade and capacity.
