Some store links earn NoJunkParts a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes which part we recommend or the order the stores appear in. How we make money
How the job goes
- Warm the engine briefly, park on level ground, and shut it off.
- Drain the oil, then remove the old filter. Make sure its gasket came off with it.
- Oil the new filter's gasket and spin it on hand-tight plus about 3/4 turn.
- Reinstall the drain plug, refill with the grade and amount on your oil filler cap or in the owner's manual, and check for leaks.
Before you order
- 2.0L and 2.3L EcoBoost Explorers use a different filter.
- Oil capacity differs by engine. Check your owner's manual.
