How the job goes

1. Warm the engine briefly, park on level ground, and shut it off.
2. Drain the oil.
3. Remove the old filter, and make sure its old gasket or O-ring came off with it.
4. Lightly oil the new filter's gasket and install it, tightening as your service manual specifies.
5. Refill with an approved oil grade and amount from your owner's manual, run the engine, and check for leaks.

Before you order

• Check your owner's manual for the approved oil specification and capacity.
• Not for the S4, which Audi lists with a different filter (06E-115-562-C).
• Use an oil meeting the VW/Audi spec in your owner's manual.
